Leedsware Cream Plate
Leedsware Cream Plate
A beautiful original piece of classic English Creamware pottery. Originating in the mid-18th century as a refined alternative to imported porcelain, true creamware became celebrated for its light weight and warm, ivory-toned finish. The historic Leeds Pottery, founded around 1756 in Hunslet closed in the 19th century. However, because the designs style remained highly collectible, a brand named Classical Creamware revived the production in the late 20th century.
