When Tobia Scarpa first designed the Bastiano Sofa in 1962, he wanted to provide seating that was sophisticated and elegant, yet casual and comfortable. The simple, comfortable design worked well with modern and traditional interiors alike and was one the most successful products of the time.

We believe this sofa to be a rare early edition as it features slightly different leatherwork detail to that usually seen, including piping to the arms and pleated folds to the back seat cushions. Reupholstered by specialist leatherworkers with new finest quality soft grain black leather and the restored solid wood frame both completely reflect the original.

• Restored vintage condition. Both frame and leatherwork have been restored and replaced however please bear in mind the frame does still show wear from previous use prior to the works carried out. One of the small screw covers on one leg is missing.
