Scrolls, Spirals, Drapes & Tassels

Its interesting watching trends slowly gain momentum which often start slowly and quietly before the mass market takes hold. Even more interesting is when such trends are inspired by historic pieces often based on craftsmanship with elements of decorative design. I’m deeply immersed in the design world and follow designers and tastemakers all over the world - my style when it comes to sourcing is constantly evolving and changing with the tides. When I see new trends emerging it gives me a great sense of satisfaction to go out and find an original version or something very similar.

A selection of items at our studio including a heavy wrought iron table paired with thick textured glass top & a pair of 1920’s Art Deco Ceramic Wall Vases with scroll detail.

That said when sourcing I almost always have the same principle at heart which is to find antique & vintage pieces that are old and beautiful but with a modern contemporary edge or simply a clean shape & form - finding items that have that small element of an historic design but nothing too fussy. With the current movement towards a more classical style with a slightly theatrical edge - scrolls, spirals, drapes & tassels are having a moment in time once again and I’ve rounded up some of my recent inspiration below.

After seeing & being inspired by these details through the design world in the last couple of years I’ve gradually been sourcing items perhaps a little more decorative than my usual style however each piece is selected for its versatility of being able to be placed in todays modern homes.

Here’s a small round up of some of the items we currently have available - I particularly love the small iron tables in the first image, to me the iron work looks like drapes. All mostly online but any wall vases feel free to drop me a direct message.

Have a wonderful bank holiday weekend!
