Amazing projects including our Vintage Items
I did share this on Instagram a few days ago however I wanted to include it over here with a little more detail about the wonderful projects some of our items, both vintage and new have been selected to be included in over the last couple of years. I may have to do this in 2 parts (!) so I’m starting with our vintage pieces. Some projects I knew of beforehand - some were an unexpected surprise however all a testament to how far the little business of mine has come - putting them here serves as a reminder to be proud of what I’ve achieved so far especially when sometimes running a business can sometimes be tough and I'm questioning my life choices!
Palm Heights, Grand Caymen
The design team (Chloe Cheke) working under the creative direction of Gabriella Khalil, designer and co-founder of Palm Heights a boutique hotel in Grand Caymen completely influenced my vintage direction shortly after I started sourcing vintage pieces. Amongst many other pieces after sourcing 20-something Vico Magistretti Carimate Chairs (Habitat) from a Church in London now reside in sunnier climes - 28 in total I recall shown here alongside some of our British made Aluminium Plant Pots, hand-s-on in Yorkshire just 20 minutes from the studio.
Locke Hotels, Zurich
Originally sourced from a pub cellar in Birmingham I had to make 2 round trips (from Manchester) to pick up around 20 marble plinths of varying colours. Originating from Pakistan in the 1990s a number were selected by designer Tatjana von Stein to be included in the communal areas at Locke Living , Zurich.
This one was a lovey surprise, selected by interior designer for Soho House Domhnall Nolan this impressive Credenza by Italian designer Luigi Saccardo for Gasparello - forming part of the ‘Seven’ Series (1980). This along with matching dining table and drinks cabinet was found & sourced via Facebook marketplace before being selected and acquired by Soho Home for this project.
Residential Project by Tabitha Isobel
I stumbled across these vintage dining chairs on Facebook Marketplace one afternoon by pure chance, they were in super condition and snapped up very quickly by Tabitha for this incredible project.
Johnston of Elgin by Hannah Franklin
We had a number of furniture items selected by Hannah Franklin for a styling shoot for Johnston of Elgin (Scotland). The items specified, 4 in total including this British made wavy backed sofa, curved bench and 2 vintage Belgium armchairs were reupholstered in their 100% Luxury Wool Boucle, styled by Hannah and shot by Mary Wadsworth.
I was very excited when the design team at Paul Smith contacted us about some pieces including these fun wavy lamp stands imported from America via Ebay - seeing them here in the Sir Paul Smith Suite for Browns Hotel, one of London’s oldest and most renowned hotels was a truly lovely surprise and a little bit of a pinch me moment!
